My take on The Apprentice 7 so far

Before even watching the show, I was disappointed on knowing the fact that season 7 was based of celebrities apprentice. The celebrity aspect didn't thrill me as much because I felt that "real", non-celebrities people encourages more practical business approaches. Aside from the fact that Omarosa (loser of first season of apprentice) came back in a "celebrity" status. In reality, her personality does not mesh in a group-type environment. Her aggressiveness and knows-it-all attitude will not get her anywhere based on how she express her opinion in the show. I do however respect her ability to manipulate others verbally in which she does really well in order to defend her case.

If you would ask me, Omarosa lacks the ability to become a leader. Although she's a visionary and passionate about what she does, she doesn't have the heart to enable others. A great leader should be able to get along with others and be able to understand their needs. This characteristic in itself empowers others to perform tasks towards your vision. Since she doesn't have that, and she's bound to be by herself with no supporting casts to fulfill her vision.

When I mentioned about the celebrities not having the practical approach, I'm referring to the differences in how a business problem is solved. An ordinary person doesn't have the upper hand such as celebrity status and therefore by all means will find ways to approach the problem using basic business principles. The problem that I have with The Apprentice season 7 is the fact that selling hot dogs on a stand should not involve high-roller contacts donating $5,000 a pop for a $3 worth hot-dog. When Gene Simmons called a friend to purchase a hot dog for charity for $5,000, the "real-ness" that comes with business was eliminated. I watch The Apprentice for one reason and that is to learn business. Although the transactions involved in purchases of the hot dog was great business, this is something that is beyond expectations on a day to day basis.
